The goal of the George Washington University Solar Institute is to be the premier research facility in the world focused on the economic, technical, and public policy issues associated with the development and deployment of solar energy to meet global energy needs and environmental challenges.
The Institute will accomplish this through independent research, soliciting and funding internal and external research proposals on defined topics and responding to outside requests for proposals that fit the Solar Institute's objectives.
The Institute is under the direction of Amit Ronen, former Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell.
