SolarCity is looking for a Project Development Manager who will be responsible for developing pipeline and achieving an annual bookings target.

• Lead generation and pipeline development of large-scale (1 MW+) solar PV systems for community solar offtake
• Develop a go-to-market strategy that optimizes project feasibility and minimizes schedules and costs
• Work closely with SolarCity cost estimators, environmental permitting specialists, project managers, and designers to prepare and develop proposals, feasibility studies, property leases, permit packages, and responses to Request for Proposals
• Present to local authorities having jurisdiction over project approvals and  key stakeholders at government agencies
• Leverage understanding of financial analysis to present pipeline close plans, budget needs, and project economics to senior and executive management (ROI, IRR, NPV, APR, etc.)
• Lead detailed site evaluations, feasibility due diligence, and budget considerations
• Work with SolarCity’s structured finance department to model system economics for prospective projects
• Maintain and expand existing relationships with real estate partners in key markets for community solar
• Lead contract negotiations with development partners, property owners, and potential commercial customers

• Minimum of 5 years of successful solar development, real estate, and/or energy asset development experience required
• Demonstrated B2B  selling experience
• Experience managing multiple external stakeholders
• Strong understanding of large-scale, complex and technical solar development process; Rea; estate and/or related energy experience preferred
• Understanding of and experience working with utilities on interconnection of large solar projects and land use and environmental permitting agencies is highly valued, but also not required
• Detailed understanding of the technical, logistical, and regulatory requirements of originating, developing, and implementing community solar projects in the various markets
• Solar PV experience and knowledge preferred, but not required
• Ability to quickly learn the technical aspects of solar PV systems required
• Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
• Detail-oriented, resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to positively and effectively interact with internal and external customers
• Regular, reliable and predictable performance required
• Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal screen. Additional pre-employment driving and drug screens may be required based on job responsibilities
