Jen Bristol is the Executive Coordinator of the GW Solar Institute where she serves as an assistant to the director and manages office operations. She is responsible for overseeing student staff and volunteers and manages the Institute’s diverse public affairs portfolio. She played an integral role in the Institute's website redesign and manages the Institute's web presence, communications, and events. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree at the George Washington University.
Prior to joining the Institute, Ms. Bristol worked at The Washington Campus, a non-profit public policy education consortium in Washington, DC. In this role she gained significant event planning experience, managing logistics and client relations for all Executive MBA and specialty residency programs.
Following her graduation from college, Ms. Bristol worked for U.S. Representative Ben Ray Lujan and at SKDKnickerbocker, a leading strategic communications and consulting firm in Washington, DC. At SKDKnickerbocker, she was part of the public affairs practice and was responsible for research and media analysis, assisting crisis communication teams, contributing to coalition building strategies, and securing reputable media coverage for a diverse set of clients.
Ms. Bristol is originally from Stony Brook, NY and earned a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and Sociology from the University of Virginia. While at U.Va, she was elected to be the Student Council Vice President for Administration and was an active member of the University community.
