GW Solar Institute Director Amit Ronen delivered keynote remarks and moderated a panel comparing and contrasting renewable energy laws in the US and China during the 18th Annual US-China Legal Exchange, the longest running dialouge of legal issues between the world's two largest economies. Held at the George Washington University Law School, this event was hosted by the US Department of Commerce and China’s Ministry of Commerce and is the oldest continuous bilateral event of its kind. This annual event promotes dialouge and increased trade by bringing together government officials and industry leaders from both countries to discuss legal and regulatory issues impacting each country.

This year's conference focused on renewable energy laws in the US and China. Director Ronen provided an overview of the U.S. clean energy industry and relevant federal policies and laws and moderated a panel featuring:

  • Mr. Cao Bingbing, Director, Legislative Affairs Commission of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress
  • Mr. An Ning, Deputy Director, Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council
  • Brandon Hurlbut, Partner, Boundary Stone Partners and former Chief of Staff, U.S. Department of Energy
